Dolpo Trek is an outstanding trek in a remote region of western Nepal. The entire district was closed to trekkers until 1990. A special permit is required for Trekking in Dolpo region. Dolpo is located inside the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in mid-western, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan plateau. You will have great opportunity to meet with the nomadic natives and their way of life almost being unaffected and unexplored during summer Dolpo trek and also you will still have an opportunity to meet the nomadic people and their lifestyle almost untouched and unexplored. The warm welcome given by the Dolpo & the fascinating insight into the Tibetan way of life makes this an extremely varied & special trek. The major attraction during the Dolpo trek is wildlife, ancient Buddhist monastery, beautiful lakes and a vast array of natural vegetation.

Trip Itinerary

  • Day1:Arrival at Kathmandu

  • Day 2 : Half day free at Kathmandu and fly to Nepalgunj (280m) in afternoon.

  • Day 3 : Nepalgunj – Juphal – Dunai(2105m)  (3-4hr walk)

  • Day 4 :Dunai – Tarakot check point (2350m) (5-6 hr walk)

  • Day 5 : Tarakot Check point – (Laini oder) camp 1  Tarap Khola    (3350m)  (6 hr walk)

  • Day 6 : (Laini oder)Camp 1 – Camp 2  Tarap Khola (Nawar pani) (3650 m) (6hr walk)

  • Day 7 : Camp 2  Tarap Khola (Nawar pani) – Langa Khola (3800m) (4-5 hr walk)

  • Day 8 : Nawar pani – Dho (4090 m) (6/7 hr walk)

  • Day 9 : Visit around  Dho valley

  • Day 10 : Dho – Shering Gompa- Numala base camp (4400 m) (4 hr walk)

  • Day 11 : Numala base camp – Numa La (5280 m) – Baga La base camp (4500 m)     (6-8hr walk)

  • Day 12 : Base camp – Baga La (5180 m) – Roman (3700 m) (6-7 hr walk)

  • Day 13 : Roman – Phoksundo lake (3610 m) – Ringmo (3640 m)  (4 hr walk)

  • Day 14 : Rest day at Ringmo

  • Day 15 : Ringmo – Chepka (2950 m) (7 hr walk)

  • Day 16 : Chepka – Dunai (2150) – Juphal (7 hr walk )

  • Day 17 : Juphal – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu

  • Day 18 : Free day at Kathmandu

  • Day 19 :Free day at Kathmandu (we need atleast two days extra because sometime there may be delay in flight from juphal – nepalgunj)
